The beautiful town of Tawang, also pronounced as Dawang, is located at a height of about 3048m. It is famous as the birthplace of the Dalai Lama. Tawang is the place to go for monasteries, with the Tawang Monastery being the most popular one and extremely sacred for the Buddhists. Tawang is a place which will flatter you with its natural beauty wrapped in the scent of spirituality. The beautiful Tipi Orchid Sanctuary is also an added attraction. 



The small town of Bomdila is set amongst the lofty ranges of the mighty Himalayas at an altitude of 2,530 m above sea level. It is a remote destination and has escaped the virtual tourist invasion in recent times. Bomdila is known for its scenic environs along with its Buddhist monasteries and apple orchids. It also attracts the adventure seeker with its numerous trekking trails. 


Nameri National Park:

It is famous for its elephants and other animals including tigers, leopards, gaurs, wild pigs, sambars, etc. and also for being a bird watchers paradise. Safaris are the most popular way to experience the rich fauna and the lush and evergreen flora. Facilities for activities such as water rafting, fishing, swimming are available, though permission from the forest department is essential for fishing. 



Guwahati is home to a large number of old temples, all of which have interesting stories and legends behind them. The Kamakhya temple, arguably the most visited temple in the city. Other temples in Guwahati worth visiting include the Umananda temple and the Navagraha temple. Guwahati offers local Assamese foods in its menus.

Day 01: Arrival in Guwahati | Transfer to Bhalukpong 

Arrive at Tezpur railway station or Guwahati airport and get transferred to Bhalukpong which is at the border of the states of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh and a place of enthralling scenic beauty. Check-in to the hotel. Overnight in Bhalukpong.

Day 02: Drive to Dirang  | Dirang Sightseeing

After breakfast, proceed to Dirang. Continue your drive and take a break to visit Nag Mandir. Enroute visit Tippi Orchid Centre and Sessa Orchid Sanctuary. Do not forget to keep your cameras handy as you cross beautiful waterfalls and get some spectacular views. Check in to your hotel. Overnight in Dirang.

Day 03: Dirang to Tawang

After breakfast, proceed to Tawang, the Land of Hidden Paradise. On the way, visit Sela Pass (13700 Ft) and Sela Lake, which is frozen most of the time. Next visit Jaswantgarh War Memorial. Later, take a visit to Nuranng Falls. Check in to your hotel. The evening is free for leisure. Overnight in Tawang.


Day 04: Tawang Local Sightseeing

After breakfast, visit Tawang Monastery and Urgeling Gompa ( 6th Dalai Lama's birthplace). Visit the craft centre in Tawang that sells beautiful masks, hand-woven carpets, jewellery in silver, coral and amber. Overnight in Tawang.

Day 05: Tawang  to Bomdila

After breakfast, proceed to Bomdila (8,200 ft.). On arrival check in to the hotel. Later visit Upper Gompa, Lower Gompa and Bomdila View Point. In the Evening, you can visit the local market and enjoy. Overnight in Bomdila.

Day 06: Bomdilla to Nameri

After breakfast, proceed to Nameri National Park. Check in to the Eco camp on arrival. Afternoon you can explore a nearby area of Nameri Eco Camp. The evening is free for leisure. Overnight in Nameri.

Day 07: Nameri to Guwahati

After breakfast, proceed to Guwahati. On arrival check in at your hotel. In the evening visit, 'Kalakshetra' where Assamese history and culture is represented through a Light and sound show. Overnight in Guwahati.

Day 08 : Hotel to Guwahati Railway station or Airport

After breakfast, visit Kamakhya Temple and local attractions nearby. Transfer to Guwahati Airport / Railway Station for your departure and journey onward.
