Melbourne is the coastal capital of the south-eastern Australian state of Victoria. At the city's center is the modern Federation Square development, with plazas, bars, and restaurants by the Yarra River. In the Southbank area, the Melbourne Arts Precinct is the site of Arts Centre Melbourne – a performing arts complex – and the National Gallery of Victoria, with Australian and indigenous art.
Melbourne Museum and the Royal Exhibition Building explore city history and culture. The Immigration Museum and the Chinese Museum provide differing cultural perspectives on the local settlement, while Old Melbourne Gaol offers insight into 19th-century prison life. A major shopping destination is Queen Victoria Market, a Victorian-era building with food stalls. The city’s 19th-century "laneways" and shopping arcades are lined with cafes, galleries, and boutiques. WHEN TO VISIT:
Most visitors arrive during summer (Dec-Mar) when popular events include the Australian Open tennis finals (Jan) and the LBGT-focused Midsumma Festival (Jan–Feb). Also drawing crowds are the Moomba arts festival (Mar), known for its parade and carnival; the Royal Melbourne Show (Sep), an agricultural fair; and the Melbourne Festival (Oct), with many free performances. Melbourne's climate is temperate but quite variable, with cool temperatures during winter (Jun–Aug)
Brisbane, capital of Queensland, is a large city on the Brisbane River. Clustered in its South Bank cultural precinct are the Queensland Museum and Sciencentre, with noted interactive exhibitions. Another South Bank cultural institution is the Queensland Gallery of Modern Art, among Australia's major contemporary art museums. Looming over the city is Mt. Coot-tha, site of Brisbane Botanic Gardens.
Ferries cruise the winding river. At one bend, modern skyscrapers crowd around the restored 1920s City Hall. Nearby, the Roma Street Parkland is a subtropical garden that’s home to native and endangered plants. For shopping, the Queen Street Mall is also in the central business district, and James Street in Fortitude Valley has restaurants and cafes. Further upriver, the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary offers visitors the chance to hold koalas and hand-feed kangaroos. Out in Moreton Bay, North Stradbroke Island is home to an Aboriginal settlement, a former convict station, and shipwrecks.

WHEN TO VISIT
Many people travel to Brisbane in winter (Jun–Aug) and the Dec–Jan school holiday break. Key events include Ekka (Aug), an annual agricultural event also called the Royal Queensland Show. The popular Brisbane Festival (Sep) draws crowds to music, theater, dance, and circus performances. The rainy season (Nov–May) begins late in the spring and runs through fall, with tropical cyclones possible Jan–Mar.
Sydney, capital of New South Wales and one of Australia's largest cities, is best known for its harbourfront Sydney Opera House, with a distinctive sail-like design. Massive Darling Harbour and the smaller Circular Quay port are hubs of waterside life, with the arched Harbour Bridge and esteemed Royal Botanic Garden nearby. Sydney Tower’s outdoor platform, the Skywalk, offers 360-degree views of the city and suburbs.
Taronga Zoo, Sydney Aquarium and Wildlife Sydney Zoo shelter animals like koalas, kangaroos, sharks, and snakes. Pyrmont’s Sydney Fish Market has a working seafood auction and restaurants serving the day’s catch. There are multicultural dining opportunities all over the city, including in Haymarket’s Chinatown and the restaurants serving the Italian community in Leichhardt. A ferry ride through the harbor is part of the experience in visiting outer Sydney destinations such as Bondi and Manly Beaches – both popular for surfing.

Sydney is temperate and sunny all year, and crowds are highest during summer (Dec–Feb) and during school holidays. Major events that increase hotel demand are the performing-arts–focused Sydney Festival (Jan), the Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras (Feb–Mar), the Sydney Royal Easter Show (dates vary) and the Sydney Film Festival (Jun). Severe thunderstorms are most likely Oct-Mar.
Day 1: Arrival in Melbourne
Upon arrival at Melbourne International Airport, get transferred to the hotel. You can opt to soak up a spectacular aerial view of Melbourne with a visit to Eureka Sky Deck 88, the highest viewing platform in the southern hemisphere. Thrill seekers can upgrade to experience ‘the edge’, a moving glass bottomed cube that lets you hover over the city streets 88 floors above. Overnight at Melbourne.
Day 2: Melbourne
After breakfast, go for the sightseeing tour of Melbourne to visit some iconic sites of the city. Start with Captain Cooks Cottage, the open-air Queen Victoria Market, the expansive Fitzroy Gardens and visit the Albert Park which is the venue of the famous Australian Grand Prix. The Royal Botanic Gardens, the Royal Exhibition Building, Federation Square, the Shrine of Remembrance, the St. Paul’s Cathedral, the Princess and Regent theatres, are all equally fascinating. End the excursion with a guided tour of the world-famous Melbourne Cricket Ground. In the afternoon take the optional tour of the one and half hour journey to Summerland beach on the south-western coast of Phillip Island to watch the little penguins return home for the night. Day 3: Melbourne.
After breakfast, you can opt to depart for a tour of the Great Ocean Road, a scenic coastal drive. This drive of 250 km, passes by sights such as the world-famous surfing destination of Bells Beach, scenic views of the Pacific Ocean, and see attractions like twelve apostles which is a grouping of massive limestone pillars that rise out of the ocean, Loch Ard George, where you stop to hear the history of this location known as the shipwreck coast. Finally, proceed to the seaside village of Port Campbell. Later in the evening, return to Melbourne. Overnight at Melbourne.
Day 4: Melbourne to Brisbane to Gold Coast.
After breakfast, get transferred to the Melbourne International Airport and take a flight to Brisbane and be transferred to the hotel in Gold Coast. This coastal city in Queensland is known for its sunny beaches, extensive canals, vibrant nightlife, natural vistas, and themed attractions. Rest of the day is on leisure. Overnight at Gold Coast.
Day 5: Gold Coast.
After breakfast, you can opt to explore Movie World, which is a film-related theme park. It features costumed character performers across its vibrant streets and houses some of the best thrill rides in the world. Overnight at Gold Coast.
Day 6: Brisbane
After breakfast, you can opt to explore Sea World, which is a combination of a marine creature park, theme park, and oceanarium. There are several rides, animal exhibits and live show performances here that entertain and educate people. Pirates Unleashed, Sea Viper, Jet Rescue, and Fish Detective are the most popular attractions within this all-in-one themed destination. Overnight at Gold Coast.
Day 7: Gold Coast to Brisbane to Sydney
After breakfast, take a flight to Sydney airport and be transferred to the hotel. In the evening, you can explore Showboat Dinner Cruise (Optional), which is situated in the east of the Darling Harbour. It has arrangements for international and magic shows for your entertainment. You will also enjoy the spectacular nightscape of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Overnight at Sydney.
Day 8: Sydney
After breakfast, proceed for a city tour of Sydney. Visit to the Sydney Opera House that houses multiple venues within its architecturally-impressive structure and is included in UNESCO's World Heritage Sites. After breakfast, this day is meant for a full-day exploration of the enchanting Blue Mountains region (Optional). Visit the famous Feather dale Wildlife Park, home to native wildlife and avian fauna of Australia, and see koalas and kangaroos up close. Visit the Three Sisters rock formation, made of sandstone. Ride the Scenic World Options, home to the scenic railway, skyway, cableway and rainforest walkway. Take a guided walk through the terrains of Blue Mountains National Park, to get acquainted with its flora and fauna. Take a trail in the park to reach the Wentworth Falls and Sublime Point, which are known for their stunning beauty. Overnight at Sydney.
Day 10: Departure from Sydney
After breakfast, you will be transferred to Sydney International airport for the return flight.
