The Aberdare Range forms a section of the eastern rim of the Great Rift Valley running roughly north to south. On the west, the range falls off steeply into the Kinangop Plateau and then into the Great Rift Valley. On the east, the range slopes more gently. Lake Naivasha and the distant Mau Escarpment can be seen from peaks in the range.
The range has a maximum elevation of 3,999 metres (13,120 ft) above sea level and is heavily forested. The former name of the range survives in Mount Satima ("the mountain of the young bull"), the highest peak in the Aberdare Range. The second-highest peak, at the southern end of the range, is Mount Kinangop at 3,906 metres (12,815 ft). Mount Kenya, 5,199 metres (17,057 ft) the second highest mountain in Africa after Kilimanjaro lies east of the Aberdare Range.
The Aberdares are the water catchment area for the Sasumua dam and the Ndakaini dam, which provide most of the water for Nairobi. The mountain forests are catchment areas for the Tana River, the largest river in Kenya, supplying water to the Seven Forks hydroelectric power complex which generates over 55 per cent of Kenya’s total electricity output.

Lake Nakuru is one of the Rift Valley soda lakes at an elevation of 1,754 m above sea level. It lies to the south of Nakuru, in the rift valley of Kenya and is protected by Lake Nakuru National Park. The lake's abundance of algae used to attract a vast quantity of flamingos that famously lined the shore.

Maasai Mara National Reserve is an area of preserved savannah wilderness in southwestern Kenya, along with the Tanzanian border. Its animals include lions, cheetahs, elephants, zebras and hippos. Wildebeest traverse its plains during their annual migration. The landscape has grassy plains, rolling hills crossed by the Mara and Talek rivers, and is dotted with villages (enkangs) of Maasai people. Enjoy game viewing in Masai Mara and have the best experience of a lifetime.

WHEN TO VISIT:
The best wildlife viewing months in Kenya are during the Dry season from late June to October. The wildebeest migration usually reaches the Masai Mara in July and remains until October when they move back to the Serengeti in Tanzania. Wildlife viewing is good year-round, but this can differ for some parks.
Nairobi is Kenya’s capital city. In addition to its urban core, the city has Nairobi National Park, a large game reserve known for breeding endangered black rhinos and home to giraffes, zebras and lions. Next to it is a well-regarded elephant orphanage operated by the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust. Nairobi is also often used as a jumping-off point for safari trips elsewhere in Kenya.
In the city centre, towers like the cylindrical KICC, home to the convention centre, rise near attractions like the Nairobi National Museum, devoted to Kenyan art, artefacts, wildlife and early hominids. In upscale suburban Langata, the Giraffe Centre sanctuary features a hand-feeding platform. The Karen Blixen Museum, in the “Out of Africa” author’s preserved colonial home, stands on the former farm that’s now an affluent suburb called Karen. The Bomas of Kenya cultural centre, with huts representing Kenya's major ethnic groups, offers a look at traditional tribal life. Tribal arts and crafts are sold at the roving Maasai Market.

WHEN TO VISIT:
Nairobi has a warm, temperate climate year-round. Weather is dry during peak travel season (Jul–Sep), and there is a large migration of wildebeests and zebras into the Masai Mara Jul–Oct. Some hotels may close during the main rainy season (Apr-May), and there is also a shorter rainy season in Nov. Migratory birds may be present Sep-Apr. Popular events are the East African Arts Festival (Mar), with displays of art and architecture; the Kenya Open Golf Championship (Apr); and the Rhino Charge 4x4 vehicle race (May/Jun).

Day 01: Arrival in Nairobi & transfer to Aberdare.
On your arrival at Nairobi, get transferred to your hotel in the Aberdares region. Rest of the afternoon is on leisure. Overnight at Aberdares.
Day 02: Nairobi – Lake Nakuru
After breakfast, proceed to Lake Nakuru. The Lake Nauru National Park offers sightings of countless pink flamingos lining the lake shore, Black Rhino, Tawny Eagles and the Rothschild Giraffe. Take the afternoon game run and enjoy sighting animals like hippos, leopards, white rhinos, zebra, and lions. The park is also known to be home to rare birds like the African fish eagle, green wood hoopoes, pink and white-backed pelicans and cliff chat among others. Overnight at Lake Nakuru.
Day 03: Lake Nakuru - Mara Game Reserve
After breakfast, head out for the world-renowned Masai Mara Game Reserve and enjoy the breathtakingly gorgeous view of the Great Rift Valley on your way. The afternoon is reserved for a gripping natural world Kenya safari game viewing drive in Masai Mara and don’t be surprised if you spot a lion or two. The Masai Mara is one of the greatest wildlife reserves in Africa and its diverse and remarkable eco-system makes sure that travellers have an exceptional experience every time. Spot majestic predators like cheetahs and pride of lions and come across side-stripped jackals, crocodiles, hippos and Thompson’s gazelle among others. Overnight at Masai Mara.
Day 04: Full day of Game Viewing
Head out for yet another amazing day of natural world Kenya safa in Masai Mara with another session of the game viewing and you may have the good fortune of witnessing a hunt, a truly exceptional experience. Head back to the game reserve. Overnight at Masai Mara
Day 05: Masai Mara to Nairobi via Lake Naivasha
After breakfast, take a short drive to Lake Naivasha and have lunch at the location. Post lunch, take a relaxing boat ride at the Lake Naivasha. Later during the day, head back to Nairobi and check into your hotel. The rest of the day is on leisure, and you can choose to explore the city. The Karen Blixen Museum, Uhuru Gardens, The Nairobi Railway Museum and the Nairobi Arboretum are some of the prominent places to visit. Overnight at Nairobi.
Day 06: Departure
After breakfast, proceed to the Airport for the return flight.
- Half-day tour of the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, Giraffe Manor, and the Karen Blixen Museum known for her memoir "Out of Africa." From Nairobi.
- Full day trip to visit the Giraffe Center and the David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage, before heading to a traditional bead workshop and a music and dance performance at Bomas of Kenya from Nairobi.
