Day 1: Arrival in Cochin
On arrival at Cochin airport, proceed to the hotel. After check-in, proceed for a city tour covering Jewish Synagogue, Santa Cruz Basilica, Chinese Fishing nets, Dutch Palace and Antique shops. Evening to Cherai beach. Overnight at Cochin.
Day 2: Transfer to Munnar (Tea Garden & Hill station)
After breakfast, proceed to Munnar. This beautiful hill station was once the summer capital of the British Government in India. The never ending vast expanse of tea plantations and the round the year moderate climate makes it a little haven for visitors. After hotel check-in, the rest of the day is on leisure. Overnight at Munnar.
Day 3: Munnar - Sightseeing
After breakfast, visit the Rajamalai National park- house of the highly endangered mountain goats - the Nilgiri Tahrs. Then proceed to the Lakkam waterfalls which is accessible by a short trek through the forest. In the afternoon visit the Echo point and Mattupetty Dam; speedboat facilities are available here (optional- cost not included). The dam is flanked by forests and the vast expanse of grassland on one side and the Kundala tea plantation on the other. Overnight at Munnar.
Day 4: Munnar - Thekkady (Wildlife sanctuary & Spice plantation).
After breakfast, proceed to Thekkady. By noon reach Thekkady and check in to the hotel. In the afternoon visit the Periyar Lake, around which the wildlife sanctuary is built, for boating. This is the only sanctuary in India where you can have the unique experience of viewing the wildlife at close quarters from the safety of a boat. Overnight in Thekkady.
Day 5: Thekkady - Kumarakom/ Alleppey (Backwaters)
After breakfast drive to Kumarakom/ Alleppey. By noon check in at the hotel. In the afternoon do a couple of hours motorboat cruise (optional- cost not included) through the legendary backwaters of Kerala. On the way, you will witness a full range of mind-boggling scenery. Evening on leisure. Overnight at Kumarakom/ Alleppey.
Day 6: Kumarakom /Alleppey - Cochin.
After breakfast, proceed to Cochin airport/railway station for onward journey.
