On a hilltop above the city is the medieval Citadel fortress, site of Muhammad Ali Mosque, an Ottoman landmark. It overlooks the Islamic Cairo neighborhood, whose zigzagging streets feature significant architecture like the 10th-century Al-Azhar Mosque and massive Bab Zuweila gate. It’s also home to the buzzing Khan el-Khalili bazaar and the Museum of Islamic Art. Highlights of the Coptic Cairo area include the Roman-era Fortress of Babylon, Hanging Church, and Coptic Museum, which displays antiquities of Christian Egypt. After dark, social life thrives in countless ahwas or coffeehouses.

Cairo has a hot desert climate with almost no rain. May-Sep can have scorching days and high humidity, while the rest of the year is cooler. Winter (Dec–Feb) has mild weather. It’s a year-round destination, but peak travel periods happen in the main vacations of Aug and Dec. The Cairo International Film Festival (Nov/Dec) is a major event focusing on Arab productions. Islamic celebrations include Eid al-Fitr (dates vary), with feasting to end Ramadan. Shortly after New Year, Coptic Christmas (Jan) includes church services.
Day 01: Arrival in Cairo
Arrive at Cairo International Airport and get transferred to your hotel in Cairo for check-in. The evening is on leisure. Overnight in Cairo.
Day 02: Cairo
After breakfast, full day visit of the Great Pyramids of Giza, Sphinx, perfume factory and cotton shop. Optional Solar Boat in Pyramids’ area.
Continue visits to the Egyptian Museum and Khan El Khalili Bazaar. Optional Entrance of the Mummies room at the Egyptian Museum. Panorama tour to the view of Cairo Tower, Citadel (Blue Mosque) & Churches. Overnight in Cairo.
Day 03: Aswan/Nile Cruise
Early morning after breakfast, transfer to Cairo Domestic Airport to take your flight to Aswan. On arrival at Aswan Airport, visit the Philae Temple, High Dam, and unfinished obélisque. Transfer to your Nile cruise for check-in. After Lunch, sail in a felucca around Elephantine Island, Botanical gardens and Agha Khan Mausoleum. Overnight on the cruise at Aswan.
Day 04: Nile Cruise
Early morning with breakfast box transfer to Abu Simbel. Visit the Temple of Abu Simbel.
Sail to Kom Ombo, visit Kom Ombo Temple. Sail to Edfu and overnight on the cruise at Edfu.
Day 05: Nile Cruise
Visit Edfu Temple. Sail to Luxor.
Day 06: Nile Cruise / Luxor/Cairo

Check-out after breakfast, transfer to Cairo International Airport for the return flight.
