- Shillong has a subtropical highland climate. Heavy rains are typical of the May to September monsoon season. November to March offers dry winter weather, with mild days and cool nights. Popular months to visit include May to July and October to December. Dawki River is best between October and December.

The peak time for spotting wildlife at Kaziranga National Park is between November and April when it’s relatively dry and temperatures are warm to hot. The park remains open from October to May and remains closed during the monsoon season which is from June to September when heavy rainfall can cause flooding.

07D SHILLONG AND KAZIRANGA
Day 01: Guwahati to Shillong
On arriving at the airport/railway station in Guwahati, get transferred to Shillong. On the way, stop by the amazing Umiam Lake, the largest manmade lake in North East. Arrive and check-in at the hotel. Overnight in Shillong.
Day 02: Shillong to Cherapunjee
After breakfast, proceed to Cherrapunji. Cherrapunji has a lot of sights to offer to you. The Nohkalikai falls, Mawsmai cave, Seven sisters’ falls are top tourist attractions. Overnight in Cherrapunji.

Day 03: Cherapunjee - Mawlynnong - Dawki River - Shillong
After breakfast in Cherrapunji, you will be going to the cleanest village in Aisa, Mawlynnong. Roam around the village and then arrive at the majestic living root bridge of Meghalaya. After this, proceed towards the border town of Dawki. The Umngot River, which forms the border between India and Bangladesh, is so clear that you can see to the bottom of it. After spending an amazing time doing boating at Dawki and clicking zillion photos and videos (own expense), return to Shillong. Check-in to the hotel. Overnight in Shillong.
Day 04 : Shillong Local Sightseeing
After breakfast, visit the local sights of Shillong. Visit attractions like the Lady Hydari Park, All Saints Church, the Cathedral in Laitumkhrah, Shillong Golf Links, Shillong Peak and the Don Bosco Museum. Overnight in Shillong.
Day 05: Shillong to Kaziranga
After breakfast, proceed to Kaziranga National Park. After arriving, check-in to the hotel/lodge/resort. Rest of the day is on leisure. Overnight in Kaziranga.
Day 06: Kaziranga Wildlife Tour
Early morning go for Elephant ride @5:30 A.M/6: 30 A.M. (Subject to availability and allotment from forest department). Return for breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast, proceed for a Jeep safari in the Central Range. With Kohora as the entry point, the Central Range covers the Daphlang and Kathpora. Later enjoy Local Village & Tea Garden (Outer View) tour.
In the afternoon you may take an optional Jeep Safari (at ADDITIONAL COST) in Western Range of Kaziranga National Park. With Bagori as the entry point, the range covers the Monabeel, Bimoli, Donga areas. Overnight at Kaziranga.
Day 07 : Kaziranga : Guwahati departure
After breakfast, you will be dropped at Guwahati Airport / Railway station for your onward journey.
