Shillong is the capital of Meghalaya. It’s known for the manicured gardens at Lady Hydari Park. Nearby, Ward’s Lake is surrounded by walking trails. North, the Don Bosco Centre for Indigenous Cultures features displays on the region’s native people. Waterfalls include the Elephant Falls to the southwest. East of here, forested Shillong Peak offers city views.
Cherrapunjee, also known as Sohra, is a high-altitude town in the northeast Indian state of Meghalaya. It's known for its living root bridges, made from rubber trees. To the northeast, Mawkdok Dympep Valley View Point overlooks verdant gorges. In the surrounding hills, the Noh-Kalikai, Dain-Thlen and Kynrem waterfalls plunge from forested clifftops. South of town, Mawsmai Cave is illuminated to show its stalagmites.
Guwahati is a sprawling city beside the Brahmaputra River in the northeast Indian state of Assam. It’s known for holy sites like the hilltop Kamakhya Temple, featuring shrines to the Hindu deities Shiva and Vishnu. To the east, 18th-century Navagraha Temple is an astronomical centre with planetary shrines. Umananda Temple, dedicated to Shiva and covered with engravings, stands on Peacock Island in the river.

Day 01: Guwahati to Shillong
On arrival in Guwahati Airport/Station, get transferred to Shillong. En route witness, the Umiam Lake or Barapani which is the largest artificial lake in Meghalaya. If time permits visit Cathedral of Mary and Ward’s Lake. Evening free on leisure. You may take a walk to the famous Police Bazaar for shopping. Overnight in Shillong.
Day 02: Cherrapunjee day trip
After breakfast drive to Cherrapunjee, for an awesome day trip. En route visits the famous Elephant Falls. At Sohra, stop at the Duwan Sing Syiem viewpointfor mesmerizing views of the Hills. In Cherrapunjee be witness to the gorgeous Seven Sisters (Nohsngithiang) Falls and Nohkalikai Falls. Later, walkinside the Mawsmai Cave. The limestone cave is a natural wonder with innumerable formations inside it. Also, visit the Ramakrishna Mission. Drive back to Shillong for an overnight stay.
Day 03: Mawlynnong & Dawki day trip
After breakfast drive to Mawlynnong, the cleanest village in Asia. Climb the 80 ft Sky Walk at Mawlynnong village for a bird’s eye view of the Village.
A trek to the nearby living-root bridge is another interesting activity. Walk down a flight of almost 100 steps to witness nature’s wonder, living-root bridge. The bridges are tangles of massive thick roots, which the local people inter-twine to form a bridge that can hold several people at a time.
Later drive to Dawki, be mesmerized by the beauty of the Umngot rivers. The river is famous for its crystal-clear water, so clear that when seen from a distance, it appears as if the boat is floating in midair. Enjoy an amazing country boat river ride. Drive up to the Bangladesh border. Later proceed to Shillong for an overnightstay.
Day 04: Shillong local sightseeing
After breakfast take a day tour in Shillong covering Ward's Lake and the Golf course (One of the largest Golf courses in Asia.) and Cathedral of Mary. Later drive back to Guwahati. Check in Hotel. Overnight at Guwahati
Optional: Visit Don Bosco Museum (Closed on Sundays, National Holidays, Easter, 22nd Dec, 02 Nights in Jan and 2nd & last Monday of December) focusing on local indigenous people & culture, with tools, clothing & artefacts on display.
Day 05: Guwahati city tour
After breakfast take a tour in Guwahati city covering Kamakhya temple, Navagraha temple (temple of nine planets) and Assam State Museum. Evening enjoya River cruise over the river Brahmaputra (cruise charges additional). Overnight in Guwahati.
Kamakhya Temple remains open from: 08:00 am to 01:00 pm & 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
Day 06: Guwahati Departure
After breakfast transfer to Guwahati airport for onward journey.
